Classes: Prospect Community Centre (September 2014)

In September I will be teaching a 6-week pastel painting course at Prospect Community Centre. Each class will be 2 hours long (dates and times to be announced) I will be teaching a variety of soft pastel techniques like broken colour, layering, scumbling and blending. We will be working on everything from still life, landscape, flowers to figure painting. Contact me or Prospect Community Centre for more information. Come join us!

Newest pastel. 18 x 14 inches, on Mi Teintes Touch pastel board. This is a new surface for me. I think I still prefer Art Spectrum's Colorfix paper, it seems to grab the pastel better.

Out and About with My Sketch Book

I took a trip to the city this week. While I waited for my husband, I did some quick pen and watercolour sketches. I felt a little conspicuous at first, but nobody really noticed me in the corner. I really need to get quicker at capturing people. I started many sketches that were never completed as the people walked away long before I was done. I have made a promise to myself to do some quick gesture drawings everyday in an attempt to get faster.
